Performance artist for the evening is Gregory Adamson. Gregory Adamson is a renowned Southern California artist who has gained regional and national acclaim for his mesmerizing, fast-paced performance art, in which he paints to music, creating huge masterpieces in just minutes. He has taken his ‘Facing the Music’ performance art from coast to coast, performed at concerts with major recording artists and has entertained members of Congress and other national leaders, plus business groups, charity fundraising events, fairs and festivals of all sizes. Additionally, his works are owned by celebrities, politicians and everyday folks, and they are collected and exhibited by hospitals, city halls, corporations, professional firms and have even been displayed in the Congressional Offices in Washington, D.C. His work has also been exhibited in Canada and abroad, including Japan. He performed at EMI Capitol Records in Hollywood at a special tribute marking the 30th anniversary of the death of John Lennon and has performed for national and regional political events in California and Washington, D.C. He has also created paintings for the recording industry, including major studios and broadcasters, musicians and the Grammy Foundation, including a portrait of Paul McCartney recently included at this year’s MusiCares Person of Year Gala honoring Sir Paul, that was held prior to the Grammy Awards. More importantly, Greg has lent his talents to scores of nonprofit organizations, raising many tens of thousands of dollars for a host of worthy causes.

We are honored to have as Keynote Guest Speaker, Laura Schroff. Laura is a former advertising executive who has worked with several major media companies, including Time Inc. and Conde Nast. Born and raised on Long Island, Laura was part of the advertising team that made USA Today a successful national newspaper. Before helping launch three of the most successful start-ups in Time Inc. history—InStyle, Teen People, and People StyleWatch—she was also the New York Division Manager at People magazine. Laura has also been the New York Ad Manager at Ms. magazine and Associate Publisher at Brides.

Laura is the author of the New York Times bestselling book, An Invisible Thread: The True Story of an 11-year-old Panhandler, a Busy Sales Executive, and an Unlikely Meeting with Destiny. When she first met Maurice on a New York City street corner, she had no idea that she was standing on the brink of an incredible and unlikely friendship that would inevitably change both their lives.
